Kian Kalidheen

You’d struggle to find a more engaged and enthusiastic employee than Kian Kalidheen, who’s just joined our Marketing team as a Junior Graphic Designer.

Not only is Kian passionate about all things design, but he’s a true creative, constantly coming up with new ways to wow audiences and capture their attention.

While his creative flair and outgoing personality are of his greatest assets today, he didn’t quite fit the mould in his high school days, which he says taught some very difficult life lessons early on in life.

Through studying design, however, and now joining a team of like-minded colleagues, Kian says he feels like he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

“When I first applied for the job, it was Unisure’s bespoke designs that initially attracted me to the company. But that was before I met my Unisure colleagues, and now I’m more convinced than ever that this was the best decision I’ve made,” he says with a grin.

Surprisingly, Kian was firmly set on the path of becoming a lawyer until a good friend saw the drawings he was creating and encouraged him to create his own comic. His love of fiction, which provided a much-needed form of escape in his high school days, combined with the thrill that art gave him to break boundaries and truly express himself, was all that it took for a new career path to emerge. And all of us at Unisure couldn’t be happier.

During the day, Kian is a key member of our Marketing team, dedicated to helping grow the Unisure brand. In his spare time, he’s working on a graphic novel passion project that he hopes will inspire and encourage other people going through a rough patch to remain uniquely and authentically themselves, no matter what societal pressures they face to fit into a particular box.

“I’m on a mission to do my best work and prove I’m a great asset to this company. Being yourself is one of the most important things in life, and I love that through Unisure that I’m allowed to be myself and express myself through design.”
